Maggie & Tom's Place

We went to check out Maggie & Tom's new place. Maggie hit the local cupcake bakery so the kids got to run around and eat sugar! The perfect afternoon.

Field Museum

We spent a day in Chicago visiting the Field Museum, having lunch with Maggie and Tom, and then visiting their new place. The kids are finally at that point where they enjoy museums.

Christmas 2010

Christmas morning came much too early for Andy. He kept telling the kids that they couldn't get up before 7. Well, we held them off until almost 6 am. I tried to explain to him that our first morning in the central time zone is always an early one. 7 o'clock our time is 6 o'clock Chicago time. The adults all managed to pull themselves out of bed and participate in the early morning festivities. The kids had a blast. There were Legos, video games, dolls, paper jams, books, clothes, and many other cool gifts to open. The kids enjoyed playing with their new toys and then headed outside for some fun in the snow.

Christmas Eve - Part 2

We got to Chicago in the afternoon. It was snowing and everything was covered in a layer of white. It was the most snow my kids have every seen and they were so excited. The minute we got to Andy's parents' house, they got dressed in jackets, snow pants, boots, hats and gloves. They went out and made as many snow angels and threw as many snowballs as they could before it got dark. We went to church with the family and then, got the kids ready for bed. They had a great time setting out milk and cookies for Santa. They went to bed looking forward to playing in the snow after opening their new presents.

Christmas Eve - part 1

Christmas Eve started with an early visit from Santa. Santa had a few things that would not have fit in a suitcase to bring home from our Christmas in Naperville with the Reid family. The kids were thrilled to find 3 basketballs under the tree and a not guiding them to the driveway where they found a brand new basketball hoop! There's nothing like kids in pjs playing basketball on the driveway in the morning and winter jacket clad kids making snow angels in the afternoon. It was quite an exciting day for Ben, Zack, and Courtney.

December 23, 2010 - Christmas with the Browns

We got together with my family in Miami on the 23rd. We ate food, visited, and opened gifts. It was great. The kids enjoyed it. Grandma and Grandpa Brown gave them beta fish for Christmas so they were super happy. They had begging for pets. Here are some pictures:

So far behind...

I am so far behind with this blog thing. My goal is to catch up on some old adventures so I can stay on top of the new adventures as they occur in the present and future. Wish me luck!

Dolphins Game

On December 19, 2010, we took the kids to a Dolphins game. My parents, Chad, and Renzo went too. Zachary is a BIG Dolphins fan and really enjoys going. The day started out a little on the chilly side, but turned out to be a great day to watch a football game. The Dolphins could have used a little help, but we had fun anyway.
